Time Out says

The Carolina Chocolate Drops lead singer is headed to Australia for a headline show

Hitting our shores for her second straight performance at Byron Bay Bluesfest, US musician Rhiannon Giddens will bring her solo stylings to the Factory Theatre come April.

Giddens is probably best known as the founding member, singer, violinist and banjo player for the Grammy-winning country and blues band Carolina Chocolate Drops.

For her solo debut, Tomorrow Is My Turn, she delivers heartfelt renditions of classic tunes, including Dolly Parton’s ‘Don’t Let It Trouble Your Mind’ and Hank Cochran’s ‘She’s Got You,’ popularised by singer Patsy Cline. The album is a revelation, incorporating gospel, blues, jazz, country and a hint of proto-rock’n’roll.

Giddens will be performing at the Factory Theatre on Saturday April 8.
