Comedic cabaret group Lady Sings it Better normally focus on covering songs by male musicians (and smashing them out of the park with humour and harmonies), but they’re broadening their repertoire for this retro performance. While backstreet will certainly be back, they’ll also be adding a humourous touch to Spice Girls tracks, giving TLC’s hits a little tender loving care, and adding some Salt-N-Pepa to the mix.
They'll be performing during Sydney Comedy Festival, so expect stand-up laughs along with the get-off-your-chair music. As the name suggests, you’re encouraged to sing along with all the beloved tunes, and dress up in your finest double denim, crochet crop tops and crimped hairdos for that fabulous 1990s style. You can catch the one-hour set for one night only on April 25 (what a joyous way to end ANZAC Day), but there's two sessions, one at 7pm and another at 8.30pm.
