On the second weekend of the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost, the street fair lines Campbelltown’s Queen Street with markets and live entertainment inspired by the ghost of ex-convict Fred Fisher.
It claims to be Australia’s only major festival inspired by an apparition. Activities include a carnival, an outdoor cinema, and an interactive horror experience. Plus, there’ll be performances by band Kallidad.
Legend has it that Fisher’s ghost appeared in Campbelltown in 1826, pointing a local farmer to a nearby paddock where Fisher’s body was found buried.
