Know a school aged kid or teen with a flair for the dramatic? The Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) is just the place. Over two semesters budding stars in kindergarten to year twelve can enrol in weekly drama classes that build skills in stage acting, screen performance, audition techniques and more. All classes are lead by industry professionals in acting and directing and occur during the school term, so you know your young thespian will be well looked after in their extra-curricular endeavours.

Adapting to the times, ATYP is offering the beginning of semester two as a virtual experience. Classes will be conducted over Zoom and Google Classroom until lockdowns are over. Students can build on skills from semester one (or start their journey now) while working towards an end of year showcase. They can test their chops in comedy, drama, self-devised theatre, acting for the screen and stage in a supportive environment of peers their own age.

ATYP classes happen seven days a week at varying times. Tuition costs range from $400 - $550 per semester and the current semester runs until December 4. Find the right class for your young star in the making here.
