Australia are the current women’s series champions – show them your support at the Sydney leg of the international Rugby Sevens tournament
The fire from our women's Rugby Sevens gold medal win from the Rio Olympics will have barely cooled when Sydney fans are treated to another glorious battle for the women in the Rugby Sevens glory in 2017.
The first weekend in February is when Allianz Stadium will host the Sydney leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series – a travelling men's and women's tournament that pitches the mighty frames of the teams from Argentina, England, Kenya, Samoa, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Scotland, Wales Brazil, France, Japan, Portugal, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Canada, Russia and South Korea against each other for the top spot.
Those 16 teams, possessing players of gargantuan size and alarming speed, will play off in a lightning two-day tournament, and you can catch all the bone-crushing action with a one or two-day pass.
It's basically like getting to watch the Olympic comp all over again, but without the international travel, so it's no wonder the event sold out last year. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday October 11 so get in early for prime position.
