On Sunday, November 24, the Tio’s Cerveceria squad will be taking over the courtyard of the George for an agave-fuelled afternoon fiesta. Head honchos Jeremy Blackmore, Alex Dowd and Alex ‘Happy’ Gilmour will be setting up camp in the beer garden, cracking salt-rimmed Tecates, pouring tequila shots and shaking signature cocktails like the Mercado Soda, a double whammy of mezcal and tequila with pineapple, lime leaf, watermelon jelly and rockmelon slush. Because these just so happen to be the owners of the CBD’s best (and only) standing room-only mezcaleria, Cantina OK, they’ll also be pouring a selection of rare mezcal.
The festivities begin at 2pm, and to celebrate the upcoming launch of the new Tio’s food menu, a $12 Latin fried pizza will be available to ensure your stomach stays lined. Things wrap up at 6pm, so get in quick – like most of the good times in life, it won’t last long.
