Time Out says

Flappers, gangsters and jazz cats will be heading to the Blue Mountains

The Hydro Majestic Hotel, with its elegant Art Deco attitude and glorious views, is the ideal location to host a grand, Gatsby-level 1920s-themed party. So it feels appropriate that this weekend festival is bringing the golden age of flapper dresses, suspenders and post-war party enthusiasm to the beloved Blue Mountains hotel.

The Roaring 20s Festival will swing into action with Charleston for Charity dance on Saturday, February 23 at 11am. You’ll need to be dressed for the occasion which will consist of a full hour of dancing, swing style. If you’re in it for the prizes, go all out with your moves and a glittering costume. Toss in a gold coin to enter the dancing arena and your pennies will go straight to supporting the Blue Mountains Rural Fire Service. All that foxtrotting will leave you parched, but keep your feather boas and fedora hats on, you can book in for a long lunch at the Hydro Majestic afterwards.

If you’re a bit of a method actor and you really want to immerse yourself in the era, head to the Majestic riding in the glamourous carriages of the Hydro Express. This heritage Art Deco train will travel from Central Station to Medlow Bath and back on both days of the festival, ready for dancing on Saturday and a jazzy high tea on Sunday.
