Gas & Candles By David Henry Wilson says
"Its theme digs into the imagination and stays there long after the play is over." The Daily Telegraph

"Comedy explodes from the smallest incident." The Guardian

This charming yet poignant black comedy takes a look at Frank and Marlene, an older couple short on money, food, and hope, and their humorously misguided attempt to attract a little attention to themselves and perhaps obtain a decent meal, or at least one with food you can taste.

The play, written and set during England's economic recession of the early 1980's, contains themes and issues relevant in the U.S. today. Many of us, old and young alike, struggle daily with hunger, depression, isolation, insufficient income, and the problems they create.

Powerstories is proud to present this light-hearted take on some very serious subjects. We hope it provides food for thought, fuel for discussion, and a catalyst for action.

GAS & CANDLES was directed byBrianna Larson and features Dodie Domino as Marlene, Trey McDuffie as Frank, and Jonathan Thornberry as Assistant Chief Constable Howell.
