The Damned: Don’T You Wish That We Were Dead says
The Damned often aren’t given the credit they deserve. They were the first UK punk band to release a single, the first to release an album, and the first to tour the United States. And unlike a lot of other punk pioneers, they’re still around, in one form or another; The Damned formed in 1976 and are still around today. But that’s not to say it all came easy.

Don’t You Wish That We Were Dead is an assemblage of footage shot over a three-year period, archival film, interviews with the band, and appearances from dozens of others (members of Pink Floyd, the Clash, Black Flag, the Sex Pistols, Buzzcocks, and more), serving to tell the story of a band who never much wanted their story told — capturing the band’s 35th anniversary world tour, alongside the ongoing smash-ups within the group’s different lineups and histories.

Before the show, Tampa-based punk band Shadow Laughter will perform in the lobby. Founded in 2013, heir style takes heavy influence from UK 77 and UK 82 bands such as The Exploited, Discharge, and The Damned. They released their first 7” record, Nightmare Future, last summer and have recently played with national touring bands Battalion of Saints and Sniper 66.
