The National Art Center, Tokyo has been wheeling out the heavy hitters this spring, to mark its 5th anniversary. With the high-profile Cézanne: Paris-Provence show currently occupying one of the NACT's many exhibition spaces, the museum is now unveiling a selection of classics from the collection of St. Petersburg's venerable State Hermitage. The nearly 90 works are arranged by century, leading from Titian up to Matisse – whose masterpiece 'The Dessert: Harmony in Red' (also known as 'The Red Room') is returning to Tokyo for the first time in 30 years.
