Based in Kyoto since 2012, Indonesian ceramic artist Albert Yonathan broke into the spotlight in 2013, when he had the honour of showing his work at the Venice Biennale's Indonesian Pavilion. His sculptures and pottery depict birds, moths, angels and plants, striving to express the constantly changing state of natural life. Also a participant in the ongoing Sunshower exhibition in Roppongi, Yonathan here explores the definition of 'craft practice' – the name he uses to describe his activities – through a 'ceramic mixed media installation'.
