Sculptor and installation artist Solveig Sumire Sandvik was born and raised in Japan before moving back to her native Norway, though she would return here in 2009 after being awarded a government scholarship. Her predilection for materials that deteriorate easily has led her to produce videos of her installations with her husband, Australian filmmaker Paul Johannessen, allowing viewers to appreciate the exhibits' gradual transformation or decay. The couple's latest exhibition takes inspiration from the memento mori found in classical and Medieval art, reminding us that however cosy our home life gets, we all share the same fate in the end.
