Ken + Julia Yonetani: The Emperor's New Clothes

Art Free

Based in Australia, Ken and Julia Yonetani have been making waves with their socially conscious, often political installation art ever since representing their country at the 2009 Venice Biennale. This exhibit at Ichigaya's Mizuma Gallery is their second at the venue, following 2015's highly acclaimed 'Wishes', and comes after the Yonetanis' nuclear power-themed chandelier installation attracted attention at last year's Kenpoku Art festival in Ibaraki. 'The Emperor's New Clothes' centres on the theme of money and the many shapes it takes in our society, so get ready for an artsy take on issues like Japan's ballooning public debt and the power of financial markets.
