The royal family of Lichtenstein holds one of the largest private art collections in the world, started way back in the 16th century by Hartmann von Liechtenstein (1544-1585). Nearly 140 pieces from these holdings – including not only a few centuries' worth of European art, but also exquisite ornaments and furniture – will be making their first-ever trip to Japan in October, for a lavish exhibition that's due to head to Kochi and Kyoto after it's shown in Tokyo.
