An emerging artist working across the genres of video, installation, sound art and performance, Berlin-based Nile Koetting has found a receptive audience in Tokyo: last year saw his debut solo exhibit in the city, this year's Roppongi Crossing features his work extensively, and Shirokane's Yamamoto Gendai now offers yet another stage for Koetting to show off his new creations. 'Whistler', named after a type of very-low-frequency electromagnetic wave generated by lightning, consists of a landscape-like installation that explores relationships like that between the organic and the inorganic, and that between 'environment' and nature, history and society.
