Head to the Seikado Bunko Art Museum to see a large collection of ukiyo‐e woodblock prints by artist Utagawa Kunisada, who was active in the early 19th century. The museum shows the precious collection of Mitsubishi’s (now Mitsubishi Group) founder Iwasaki, who owned a variety of classical documents and antique artworks. Usually, nishiki-e suffer easily from decolouration due to sunlight and general wear & tear, but the nishiki-e (multi-coloured woodblock printings) owned by Iwasaki are very well preserved, being folded piece by piece showing no sign of damage. You'll be able to enjoy unique ukiyo-e prints portraying beautiful woman or kabuki actors here ー Kunisada’s pride and joy.
