Golden Week is beer time in Tokyo: while the Oktoberfest rolls into Odaiba, Tokyo Midtown will be luring more serious hopheads for three days of ‘aromatic beer.’ Grande Biere 2013 promises 80 varieties of beer from 30 different Japanese and international breweries, all of it top-notch: it's been picked by industry experts themselves. It's strictly suds-only during the ‘Midtown Night’ warm-up session on Friday evening, though there'll be a range of food on offer courtesy of Dean & Deluca on the following two days. And regardless of when you go, the basic rules remain the same: you're free to sample as many beers as you like using the 50ml glass included in the ticket price. Which is nice.
