Commix must be one of the few contemporary drum'n'bass acts you can bring up in conversation without the person you're talking to yawning and walking away. Their record deal with Metalheadz and 2009 mix for the Fabric Live series certainly helped their case, but it was last year's Re:Call to Mind – which saw the (unlikely) likes of Burial, Marcel Dettmann and Underground Resistance remix the Cambridge duo's 2007 debut album – that marked them out as one of the more adventurous forces on the scene. They'll be taking a break from work on their second album to appear at DJ Aki's venerable 06S party, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last May.
