He's a purist, and proud of it. Throughout his career, Parisian producer Phil Weeks has looked back to the halcyon days of Chicago house for inspiration, creating an oeuvre that's either timeless or shamelessly retro, depending on how you look at it. He recently released his second album, Love Affair, a soul- and funk-drenched record that was produced entirely on an MPC3000 sampler. Remarkably for someone who's been active since the '80s, this will be Weeks' first visit to Japan. Blue Source organiser Kiyo is also spinning in the main room, and the ever-lovely DJs Amiga and Kyoko will be holding things down in the Saloon area.
