Brit Simon Marlin and Swedish pal Max Reich both got their start in dance music via the illegal rave scenes in their respective countries. Working together as The Shapeshifters (sometimes billed as The Shapeshifters UK, to avoid confusion with an American hip-hop act), they paid tribute to the glory days of acid house with a reworking of Orbital's 'Chime', though it's the 2004 single 'Lola's Theme' for which the duo are best known. They're representing influential house label Defected at Air this weekend, with Ryota 'Jazztronik' Nozaki and Satoru Kurihara acting as wingmen for the night.
