Unit 8th Anniversary Party

While it's normally a bastion for cutting-edge club nights, Unit loves to get nostalgic when its anniversary rolls around each year. Having invited the likes of Wire, Cluster and Silver Apples in previous years, the Daikanyama pleasuredrome is marking its 8th birthday in the company of Germany's Palais Schaumburg. The early '80s New Wavers recently reconvened after a more than 25 year absence, during which time founder member Thomas Fehlmann went on to find success as an electronica producer, while frontman Holger Hiller ended up working as a language teacher in Berlin. The group are supported by a solid bill of local DJs including Takkyu Ishino and Kentaro Iwaki – plus Fehlmann himself.
