Time Out says

'Where's the drop?' has become a common – and, alas, not always ironic – comment in dance circles and on YouTube comment threads lately, its frequency correlating roughly with the rise of the amorphous genre known as bass music. While purists and academics debate the wisdom of defining a music scene purely in terms of EQ frequencies (what next, 'treble music'?), the 'kids' will be hitting Unit for an orgy of dubstep, drum 'n' bass and other strains of low-end gnarliness, courtesy of America's Dieselboy, Canada's Downlink, England's Razor Rekta and Japan's own Rebel Familia.
