Xavier Dolan: Special Programme

Time Out says

The folks at Shibuya's Uplink really seem to have a soft spot for Quebec's filmmaking prodigy Xavier Dolan, as this is the second special programme featuring the director in three months. Not that we're complaining, though: Dolan is only 26 but has already directed five feature films – four of which have premiered at the Cannes Film Festival – and so deserves all the attention he gets. This series of screenings includes the director's debut piece I Killed My Mother (2009), 2010 drama Heartbeats, Laurence Anyways (2012) and 2013 shocker Tom at the Farm, while the Tabela café downstairs offers chocolatey sweets themed on Charles Binamé's Elephant Song (2014), in which Dolan plays a mentally ill schemer.
