Time Out says

Head to the Keio Department Store in Shinjuku between August 4 and 15 for the annual Railway Festival. You can try being a train conductor at the simulator and navigate the train on routes through Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka (10am-12noon, 1pm-8pm daily).

You’ll also find a photo spot of a Keio 9,000 train and watch clips from old movies depicting stations along the Keio line. There’s even a small photo exhibition by photographer and train enthusiast Seiya Nakai.

Of course, the souvenir shop on site will be carrying train-themed merchandise. But we recommend that you make your own  train station sign board instead at the workshop (August 4-7, from ¥2,750).

The event takes place from 10am to 8pm, until 5pm on August 15.
