Time Out says

Initially founded in 1982 to highlight underground and experimental tunes and art in the German capital, the Berlin Atonal festival was brought back to life in 2013 after a two-decade break and has quickly become a seminal event on the global electronic music scene. Now centred on an abandoned power plant in central Berlin, it always features a lineup stacked with stars – 2016 saw the likes of Moritz von Oswald, Rashad Becker, Donato Dozzy, Yves de May and Pinch take the stage. This three-day Tokyo spin-off is not short on quality either, with former Nine Inch Nails keyboardist Alessandro Cortini (who's set to team up with noise legend Merzbow), Rashad Becker, Puce Mary and Laurel Halo joining local lights like Ena, Killer-Bong, Bun, Synth Sisters and Ryo Murakami for gigs at SuperDeluxe and Contact. The opening night will also be broadcast live on Dommune.
