Black Lips & Vivian Girls

Time Out says

It's garage-rock girl band versus garage-rock boy band, as Brooklyn three-piece Vivian Girls share a bill with Atlanta 'flower punk' band Black Lips. Both groups draw a fair amount of inspiration from the sounds of the late-'60s Nuggets generation, though the Vivians inject a bit of Shangri-Las pop sweetness and lo-fi scuzz, while the Lips have become notorious for their unhinged live shows. They're playing at WWW on July 2, but promoters Contrarede scheduled this extra show at Shimokitazawa Era at the last minute, and it might be the better bet for people who prefer their garage rock served uo in a venue small enough to pass for a garage.
