As Japan bids farewell to analog TV broadcasting, maverick musician Ei Wada is staging a unique (and typically bonkers) gig to mark the end of the era. Wada is best known as the leader of the Open Reel Ensemble, who conjure live dance music from vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders, but the Braun Tube Jazz Band will see him work his sonic alchemy on an array of old television sets. Hey, it beats sitting at home complaining that you can't seem to pick up NHK any more.
