On their website, children's band Coinn admit that they're unlikely to end up singing songs on kids TV – they're happy to remain more like 'that guy living next-door who likes music.' And that's fine with us. The group's members play guitar, ukelele, cello and drums while sharing vocal duties, and their ditties aren't all that far removed from Shugo Tokumaru at his most whimsical. After a brief scoot around the country to promote their debut album, Hello! Hello! Hello!, Coinn are playing a trio of gigs at a puppet theatre in Shinjuku. The morning and matinee shows will also feature dancer Reina Izumi, while the evening performance enlists harp and guitar duo Tico Moon. Children under elementary school age can get in for free, and all of the performances are non-smoking.
