David Sanborn

If you were to compile a 'notable sax solos of the 1980s' list, David Sanborn would probably feature heavily. The smooth jazz pioneer has got a lot to answer for, though as this year's DMS tour with Marcus Miller and George Duke proved, he isn't all about cheesy caterwauling. His Blue Note dates find Sanborn reuniting with organist Joey DeFrancesco, who played a key role on last year's Only Everything album, with Byron Landham on drums.
