Foster The People

There was a time when hyped-to-death overseas indie bands could count on selling out their shows in Tokyo, but with local interest in Western music dwindling, that's become increasingly rare. All of which makes Foster The People's latest feat – not one but two sold-out gigs, and at different venues, to boot – seem all the more impressive. Then again, this is the band responsible for 'Pumped Up Kicks', one of the biggest crossover hits of 2011. Will they manage to capitalise on their success so far (debut album Torches went Top 10 in the US) or go the way of Peter Bjorn and John? We'll have to see – but for now, Foster The People are laughing.
