DJ and tastemaker Gilles Peterson's Worldwide radio show may be no more, but its spirit – and spin-off events such as this – live on. This year's Worldwide Showcase sees Peterson hook up with some old friends, while also showcasing a few new discoveries of his own. In the former category, you can look forward to appearances by master turntablist DJ Krush and J.A.M – better known as the rhythm section from local club jazz supremos Soil & "Pimp" Sessions, who'll be performing with silky-voiced singer José James. Meanwhile, the gig offers Japanese audiences their first taste of Ryat, the avant-garde chanteuse signed to Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label, who's performing alongside longtime pal and accomplice Mast.
