Face-melting? That doesn't even begin to describe the unholy racket that tour buddies Heaven in Her Arms and Celeste are capable of stirring up. Heaven... stick closely to the blueprint set by compatriots Envy, pairing colossal washes of post-rock guitar with the rhythmic attack and tortured vocals of screamo. As impressive as they sound on record, they're really a band you want to catch live. France's Celeste take some of the same elements but drag them into the yet-darker terrain of black metal: fearsome stuff, in other words. The fidgety post-punk of support act Atata will come as light relief in comparison, while polite instrumental rockers Ovum risk getting blown off the stage altogether.
