Marc Almond

He's come a long way since 'Tainted Love'. After coming to prominence with Soft Cell in the early '80s, Marc Almond went solo and ditched the synth pop for chanson, torch songs and Russian folk music, even moving to Moscow in 2000. After releasing his first album of original material in a decade with last year's Varieté, his most recent album is a 3CD collaboration with composer Michael Cashmore, Feasting With Panthers, which sets the work of Count Eric Stenbock and other poets to music. Almond is heading to Tokyo for a one-off date at Billboard Live, which will involve both acoustic and electric sets.
