Also known as El Fog, Berlin-based vibraphone virtuoso Masayoshi Fujita shows off ethereal ambient soundscapes on his studio work, which also features a number of supporting instruments – from violins and cellos to clarinets and accordions. On stage, however, his vibraphone artistry reigns supreme, making for a refined musical experience best enjoyed without external distractions. That sort of laidback environment will be provided at Harajuku's Vacant on Sunday evening, when Fujita struts his stuff in Tokyo for the first time in three years.
