Time Out says

When we interviewed Gilles Peterson a few months ago, the radio DJ and tastemaker revealed that the album he'd been listening to most in 2011 was none other than Metronomy's The English Riviera. 'That's a record that I can put on in the morning and it'll make me really happy,' he gushed – and who are we to disagree? Joseph Mount's group have shifted away from the IDM-influenced sound of their earlier material to something that more closely resembles Steely Dan, and the makeover has worked far better than anyone had any right to expect. Good luck figuring out how to dance to it, though.
