Mutemath

Formed from the ashes of Christian experimental rock band Earthsuit, New Orleans alt rockers Mutemath have fared far better commercially since they ditched the religious stuff. After relying heavily on studio trickery for their first two albums (though they did also manage to play their own song backwards in the vid for breakout hit 'Typical'), the band have put their musical chops on full display on the recently released Odd Soul, which veers from Black Keys-esque blues stomps to the Krautrock-inflected rhythm mantras of latterday Radiohead. Should work well live – just don't expect them to play it in reverse.
