Aidan Baker, the multi-instrumentalist who comprises one half of Nadja, has described his band as ambient metal, ambient doom or – most charmingly – dreamsludge. None of those terms will quite prepare you for the enveloping, colossally bummed-out vibes that this pair are capable of creating – like the sound of a thousand years spent wrestling with the meaning of the cosmos in the Arctic Circle. Their latest tour is being organised by Kansai-based 'brutal orchestra' Vampilia – who are every bit as loud but a whole lot sillier – and comes with additional support from noise-grindcore heavyweights Endon.
