Time Out says

Fresh from their appearance at the Earth Celebration festival on Sado Island last weekend, Iran's Ranaei Family are heading to Tokyo to play a pair of additional dates. The family play both traditional and contemporary Persian and Kurdish music on the tanbour, an ancient three-string instrument, along with the oud, tar and tombak. Unusually, mother Shirin Mohammadi also sings the tanbour songs – a task that's usually left to the guys. Their gig will be preceded by a shinobue flute performance by Kodo member Yasukazu Kano.
