An improvisational quartet mixing electronic sounds with those of traditional Indian instruments, Saicobab is one of those bands that escape description – you just need to hear them for yourself is all we can say. Fronted by Yoshimi, a founding member of iconic Osaka outfit Boredoms and an all-round musical chameleon, they travel wildly from trance and psychedelia all the way to pure noise but can always be counted on for a surprise. Saicobab recently came out with a new album for the first time in 14 years and now celebrate with a rare gig at SuperDeluxe, where they'll be backed by Boredoms guitarist Shinji Masuko's Moan, psych-folk DJ Shhhhh and αArea (aka DJ Discharge).
