Soil & "Pimp" Sessions

Gilles Peterson-approved club jazz sextet Soil & "Pimp" Sessions effectively doubled in size when they headlined at Hibiya Park's outdoor amphitheatre last summer, recruiting a one-off big band that included members of Zainichi Funk and Ego-Wrappin' and the Gossip of Jaxx. Or at least, we thought it'd be a one-off – the group are planning to repeat the trick when they play at Theatre Orb, as part of the Jazz Week Tokyo 2013 concert series. Soil and Pimp and added horns: should be an ass-shaker.
