The apocalypse never sounded as good as when Swans play it. Well over 30 years after they first started out, Michael Gira's crushingly intense rock group are still on peak form: their wrenchingly beautiful new album The Glowing Man – set to be the last Swans album with their current cast – was widely praised, raising expectations further for their autumn tour. Still, Swans are unlikely to disappoint: their Tokyo gig last year was a raging success and certainly attracted more than a few new fans, most of whom will doubtless be in attendance for this December date.
