The Go! Team

With beatbox chants and marching band stomp, The Go! Team gives dull school pep rally a dose of old school rhythms and funk, using everything from glockenspiels to synesthised hand claps (who knew). The Brighton-based sextet (with Japanese members) hit the J-music scene in 2005 with their performance at Fuji Rock. The group later teamed up with Tokyo techno artist, De De Mouse, for an exclusive remix collection. Their latest album, The Rolling Blackouts (2010), proves that the squad still has team spirit with its mix of rah-rah-rap anthems and lo-fi charm, featuring the poppy vocals of Deerhoof's own Tokyo native, Satomi Matsuzaki, on the track 'Secretary Song'.
