Thirty Seconds to Mars

One of the good things about actors turning musician is that they can make great frontmen. Such is the case with Jared Leto: while he's cursed to be forever best remembered as the doe-eyed love interest in My So-Called Life, his commanding stage presence and dazzling good looks have somehow elevated Thirty Seconds to Mars from the grinding banality of their music, a blend of cod-philosophical lyrics and warmed-over post-grunge rockisms.
