Thirty Seconds to Mars

Jared Leto is best known as an actor in My So-Called Life, Requiem for a Dream and Fight Club, but since the late ’90s he has also been making melodic, proggy alt rock with his brother Shannon in Thirty Seconds To Mars. Their super-earnest, naffly poetic post-grunge bombast makes them the closest thing America has to Muse, especially on their electronically-tilted new concept album Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams. The group are usually accustomed to playing at large-scale venues, so this gig at the comparatively intimate Liquidroom should be a memorable one. Tickets are on sale now, and likely to sell out well in advance.
