U-Zhaan × Rei Harakami vs Open Reel Ensemble

This could be very interesting indeed. Tabla virtuoso U-Zhaan made a name for himself as part of the tweaked electronic pop duo Asa-Chang & Junray before branching off on his own last year. He's picked up a few regular foils since then, including whimsical laptop wielder Rei Harakami, with whom he collaborated on last year's electro-pop travelogue, 'Kawasaki Rendezvous'. While the pair are capable of producing some tasty sonics by themselves, there's no saying what'll happen when they face off against Open Reel Ensemble at SuperDeluxe this weekend. Ei Wada's tape-deck orchestra is one of the most impressive spectacles on the Tokyo live circuit at the moment, and this has the makings of an ear-opening – not to mention downright odd – evening of music.
