Wavves at Club Quattro

Occasionally troubled, consistently lauded, Nathan Williams brings his three-piece to Japan for the first time on the back of their highly acclaimed third release, King of the Beach. If you've lived your life thus far immune to the hype, Williams and his rhythm section (former members of the late Jay Reatard's band) deal in a kind of artsy take on surf-rock (think weed and slacker references rather than 'California Girls'). A very public 2009 breakdown seems to have grabbed the headlines as much as the music has, though it's the new album that will have them packing out Quattro come early March.
