Floating Points & Portable

Time Out says

Floating Points is the name that Manchester-born Sam Shepherd uses when he’s not pursuing his other professional interest – neuroscience. The PhD-holding DJ had already released a stack of floor-focused 12-inches when his 2015 debut album Elaenia took the freewheeling Floating Points vibe to the next level, weaving together live cellos, voyaging synths, Rhodes piano and post-rock arrangements into a seven-track treat aimed at the head, not the hips. This late-night show at Contact comes straight after Shepherd's gig at nearby WWW X and sees him joined by soul-influenced South African producer Portable (aka Alan Abrahams).

Bring a ticket stub from Floating Points's WWW X gig for a ¥1,500 discount on the day.
