New Year Party: Soul Steady

Welcome another year of alternative club nights at Nakano's Heavy Sick Zero, where 2016 kicks off in earnest with this afternoon buffet of club jazz, dub, roots and much more. Saxophonist Akira Tatsumi's Island Jazz Sessions, singer Asuka Ando, reggae outfit Onegram and hyperactive genre-hoppers Mitakattaband will all be taking the stage, while complementary tunes come courtesy of a six-man DJ rotation. This is highly likely to be the grooviest party in all of Tokyo this weekend – and one of the very few you can actually enjoy to the fullest while still managing to catch the last train home.
