Going tropical for late spring, Odaiba's Hotel Nikko serves up mango-themed afternoon tea from May until the end of June, packing the trays with delectable cakes, sandwiches, scones and the like – all containing ample amounts of tropical fruit. All that sure sounds tasty enough for us, but those looking for something even more luxurious will want to try the special Excellent set (¥7,000), available only on May 3, 17 and 31, plus June 6 and 21. This one features branded Taiyo no Tamago ('sun egg', to put it literally) mango from Miyazaki Prefecture, supposedly the crème de la crème of juicy fruit varieties.
