39th Koganei Takigi-Noh

An annual affair in Koganei Park, this open-air noh and kyogen (traditional comic theatre) performance takes place in front of the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum's main gate. With contemporary and ballet dancers participating in the show, it makes for a rare combination of traditional and modern performing arts. This year's edition sees the National Ballet's Naoya Homan and 'living national treasure' Tojiro Yamamoto take part.
